About Me

Hello there!

I’m Catherine, an illustrator specialising in cut paper art. I am happiest in my shed, surrounded by piles of painted paper, ready to cut into intricate designs.

I am represented by Creative Sparrow .

I graduated with a BA(Hons) in Graphic Design and Illustration in 2009 and an MA in Visual Communication in 2011, but found my love of cutting paper to create my art a few years later, and haven’t looked back since.

My work is colourful, richly textured, and sophisticated. I work primarily with paper, hand-painted with acrylic paint and inks, cutting it into different shapes to create lovely scenes and patterns. One of my favourite parts of the process is transforming sheets of paper into intricate elements with my tiny pair of scissors and glue. I mix the traditional craft of cut paper art with digital collage to create my designs. This allows me to create tactile pieces that translate beautifully in print and other media.

When I’m not working on my illustrations, I love being outdoors with my young family, where I find inspiration from the wildlife and nature surrounding me.
